Events & Fundraisers

As a charitable non-profit organization, we rely on grants and donations. Our NFTRA annual operating budget is over $340,000, and our lesson fees cover one-third of the costs of the Therapeutic Riding Program.

To continue providing this unique form of therapy, we rely on the generosity of our donors, sponsors, community groups, and individuals who donate to our programs.

EVENTS

Open Benefits Show (OBS)

This has been an annual event for over 20 years and is one of our major fundraisers. Over the years, people trailered their horses in, camped, set up the obstacle course and then packed up when it was all over!

We attract dressage and para-dressage riders from all over British Columbia. Some of our NFTRA riders enjoy competing in our obstacle course too!

Our OBS show typically takes place in mid-June and runs for 2 full days, Saturday and Sunday. Dates for 2026 will be announced later in the year.

Auction & Pub Night

This is a much-loved FALL fun event that attracts our volunteers, sponsors and riders with their families!

There are many coveted auction items that are bid on while enjoying a fabulous buffet and mingling with old friends!

Duck Races

This is a fun annual August event sponsored by the Rotary Club of Meadow Ridge.

Tickets are $10 per ticket, which equals 1 duck out of 10,000!

Grand prize is $15,000 cash with other prize values from $1,000 – $2,000!

On-Going Fundraisers

GO FUND ME CAMPAIGN!

We are in the process of raising $150,000 to continue to build our stalls, furnish our offices, complete our paddocks with shelters, build a large round pen and a new temporary arena at our new location in Maple Ridge, which we moved into this location in July 2025. We are leasing this Hampton property, at 128 Avenue and 210 Street, from the new owners, who also own Honeybee Centre in Surrey.

While this is a picturesque location, we have been responsible for the ‘build’ of the property. It has taken months of planning and organizing to continue our work at NFTRA. Our dedicated volunteers have been instrumental in making this dream a reality.

50/50 MONTHLY CASH RAFFLE DRAW

This has been a popular fundraiser for us and ticket buyers have a better chance at winning this raffle than our local lottery!
